Nurturing creativity and the passion for clay

Blossom Hill Crafts has a long 55 year history in a residential neighborhood in Los Gatos, California teaching thousands of people the art of ceramics. Our vibrant community of over 200 artists enjoy a studio with 40+ wheels, three 40 cubic ft gas kilns, three electric kilns, a Raku kiln, a spray booth, and a large handbuilding only room with 100s of forms, stamps, and cookie cutters. We also offer 20+ clays and 50+ dipping glazes.

Members and students can sign up for open studio time 365 days per year, 7am-11pm. Our studio is large enough to accommodate our private events and not affect open studio time. We have over 3200 square feet of space.  Plenty of space for practicing students and experienced members to work even  when we a have beginner classes and Intermediate/Advanced classes going on at the same time.

Our 6 kilns fire as soon as they are full which is usually twice per week so your pots will never sit long on the shelf to be fired. We offer 5 types of firing:
1. Reduction cone 10

2. Oxidation cone 10

3. Oxidation cone 5/6

4. Raku

5. Luster cone 018

We board your thrown pots for you. Boarding is removing a pot from the bat and placing it on a board and covering it with plastic. We do this 3 times per day for all our students and members, 7 days a week so you can enjoy your time throwing without having to return to the studio and tend to your pots. You can come back at your leisure to trim your pots.

16 of our 20 high and midfire clays are included with your membership to our studio at no added cost. You don’t have to buy a bag and worry where to store it. Just cut off what you want from the clay bin of your choice. You can even throw with multiple types of clay the same day. In addition, we offer a variety of stoneware clays & porcelains for purchase at a discounted rate to our members.

To help expand our members’ skills we offer free workshops every quarter. We design new workshops according to  members’ needs and suggestions. See a list of recent offerings at the bottom of workshops page on our website but remember you could also suggest something that interests you.
Periodically, we invite outside artists to teach workshops to our members at a discount. These can be ceramic related or a completely different medium. We feel that all art compliments ceramics and we strive to make creativity thrive here at Blossom Hill Crafts.

We offer Intermediate/Advanced weekly classes that are taught by experienced teachers every day of the week except Fridays.  Our AM, PM, and weekend classes can fit into anyone’s schedule and they are always available.

We also offer a porcelain only studio for a minimal add on cost to membership. This studio is a separate studio used only for porcelain. We have 4 wheels, a slab roller, handbuilding space and member storage for work and tools.
