Date: October 1, 2023
Time: 1:00-3:30 14 max students Students to bring: 3-4 Leather-hard pots & tools (details listed below) In this workshop, students will create their own unique underglaze transfers. We will use brushes, stamps and slip trailers (squeeze bottles) to create designs on newsprint. We will then learn how to transfer the designs onto leather-hard pots. The results are fun, colorful, and totally one-of a kind! All skill levels welcome. Students will need to bring three (or more) trimmed, leather-hard pieces. Your ware must be leather-hard, NOT bone dry. Pots can be wheel-thrown or hand-built. At least two of these pieces should be plates, trays or cylinders. Please use a light or medium-colored clay-body (no Black Mountain, Dark Brown or Hawaiian Red). All students should bring a pin tool, a soft rubber rib, a small sponge, and scissors. You may also want to bring paintbrushes (of various sizes) and stamps. BHC has some brushes and stamps for your use, but it is recommended to bring your own (if you have them), as our supply is limited. Make sure to label any tools you bring in with your initials or name. |
