Obvara Firing Workshop
Obvara firing is a technique that involves dipping a hot piece of pottery into a bucket of fermented liquid and then immediately into cold water. This technique works well with texture and looks great on Sodium Silicate pots. During this workshop you will learn how to safely move your hot pots from the raku kiln, dip into a “mush” bucket, and then into a water bucket.
Requirements: 1-2 Bisque pots (maximum 6"Wx6"Dx6"H) made from a groggy clay like B-mix with grog or Orion Stout. Be prepared and start early, you can always hold onto your bisqueware pots. Reminder emails will be sent out two weeks prior to the workshop day.
