Frequently Asked Questions
What if I just finished the beginner series, but I still don't feel completely comfortable with the basics of throwing on a wheel? Can I still join an ongoing class?
Yes! Pottery skills take a long time to refine for most, so do not feel alone if you are still struggling with the basics. Ongoing classes are a great way to continue practicing what you learned in your beginner series while still being supported by an instructor. If you have any other concerns, don't hesitate to email us!
Will there still be space available for members to use the studio during classes?
Yes, we will have at least four wheels available for members to reserve in the large throwing room. Additionally, the outdoor wheels will be available and members may reserve the wheels in the small room as long as there is not also a beginner class using that space.
Will the classes be for wheel throwing/handbuilding/both?
As the classes are mainly open studio style, you may work on whatever projects you would like to. Teachers will migrate around the studio and check in with and support all of the students. Teachers will provide a variety of different kinds of projects depending on the interests of the students.
Will my teacher be tied up working with brand new potters?
No. Folks who are completely new to clay can only join an ongoing class after completing our 5-week beginner series. There should be no brand new potters in an ongoing class.
